Ex Chilean Dictator Augusto Pinochet Died

Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, who was 91 years old died on Sunday from heart complications one week after a major heart attack.

Pinochet of Chile from 1973 to 1990, during which according to the official count, some 3,000 political opponents were killed by the regime.

His death sparked celebrations and clashes between Chile as police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse demonstrations against Pinochet demonstrators.

Pinochet will not be buried with state honors, but will be military funeral on Tuesday.

More than 30 years after leading the coup that overthrew Salvador Allende, Pinochet remains title which could lead to the deep divisions in Chilean society.
